The Dental Implant Process
Implant Placement
Our dental specialists will surgically place titanium posts in precise positions within your jawbone to provide support for your new teeth, as well as to encourage the well-being of your jawbone. Following this, we give your mouth time to recover and for the implants to bond with your jawbone.
Abutment Placement
Once your implant has successfully integrated with your jawbone, you'll return for a follow-up appointment. During this visit, we'll attach a small connector piece called an abutment to the top of the implant. This abutment will serve as a link between the implant and your final tooth restoration. We'll then take precise impressions of your mouth to create a custom-designed dental crown that perfectly matches your natural teeth in color, shape, and size.
Implant Placement
After your custom dental crown is crafted in our advanced dental laboratory, you'll return for the final step in the implant process. We'll securely attach the crown to the abutment, completing your dental implant restoration. Your new tooth will blend seamlessly with your natural smile, restoring both function and aesthetics. You'll be able to eat, speak, and smile with renewed confidence, knowing that your implant is designed to provide long-lasting, stable results.

Neglecting to replace a missing tooth can lead to deterioration of the jaw over time, resulting in a sunken and unnatural appearance. Dental implants replace the tooth root, preserving the jaw bone and providing long-lasting stability. These durable implants can last for years without requiring replacement.
We offer in-depth consultations for patients considering tooth replacement. Our skilled doctors will conduct a comprehensive examination of your mouth and teeth, and assist you in selecting the most suitable option for your needs. Our team takes into account factors such as severity, location, health history, and budget to help you regain confidence in your smile. Take the first step toward a new smile with dental implants at PCCD.
Without having a dentist fully examine your mouth, there is no way to do an advance estimate of the total cost of dental implants. There are a number of factors that go into the equation, like the number of teeth that are missing, where they are in relation to each other, and the ideal number of implants that would be needed to support the replacement teeth.
Once our doctors perform a thorough assessment, they will recommend the best treatment option and advise you of the cost. At PCCD, we offer an in-house dental discount plan featuring many cost-saving benefits. We also accept flexible in-house payment options, as well as CareCredit®. Call us today for more information on how you can finance your dental implants.
At Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry, we understand that cost is an important factor when considering a significant investment like dental implants. That's why we discuss costs upfront during our consultation process and assist in answering any insurance or coverage questions. We offer financing options and payment plans to ensure every patient can receive the dental care they need. Dental insurance plans vary, and typically do not cover implants, although some may cover up to 50% for dental implant surgery. We recommend patients check with their insurance provider and review their deductible to determine what is required to be paid upfront. In some cases, medical insurance policies may cover dental implants, depending on the policy and any pre-existing conditions.
The cost of dental implants varies based on case severity and the number of implants required. However, implants are a long-term investment designed to last without the need for replacement, unlike other restorative options such as dentures. Investing in your smile can provide a permanent solution and prevent jaw deterioration as you age.
At PCCD, we are committed to helping our patients receive the care they need to achieve a beautiful, healthy smile. While dental implants may seem costly initially, they are a worthwhile financial investment that can last a lifetime. Without treatment, patients risk further deterioration of their teeth and jaw, likely requiring more extensive and costly interventions in the future. Choosing implants can save you time and money in the long run, allowing you to enjoy a beautiful, healthy smile for years to come.

Dentures are an appliance that is custom-made to help restore missing teeth and overall mouth function. This method of replacement is typically more affordable compared to implants, but this option is removable. Dentures can slip and click, cause discomfort, and must be removed daily for cleaning. Dental implants are inserted into the jaw and act similar to a tooth root. The implant bonds with the jawbone during a healing period, and creates a base of support for the replacement tooth. Implants are permanent and do not need to be removed for cleaning. They are comfortable and do not cause irritation or rub against the gum tissue.
